Blessed Passover In Y'shua
Celebrating the new Exodus
As we all know, at the time when our fathers were delivered from bondage in
Egypt, YHWH commanded that each man choose a male lamb from among his flock
- one without blemish - and keep it until the 14th day, and kill it in the
evening. They were then to take of the blood and strike it on the side posts
and upper door posts of their houses.
YHWH then dispatched the death angel to pass through the land of Egypt and
smite all their firstborn; both man and beast. But wherever he saw the blood
of the lamb, he passed over, and the plague of death did not come upon that
house. This Pesach or 'Passover' event was to become a memorial feast unto
YHWH throughout our generations - an ordinance forever...
When Y'shua and His disciples celebrated their final Pesach together, He
broke bread and blessed it, saying "Take, eat; this is My body..."
(MattitYahu/Matt. 26:26), revealing Pesach/Passover as a shadow of His
sacrifice; and pointing to the ultimate Pesach Lamb - Himself! He shed His
blood for the remission of sin; and when we place His blood on the door
posts of our hearts, the plague of spiritual death passes over us...
But Mashiach fulfills not ONLY the Passover as the eternal Lamb of Elohim -
He fulfills the Menorah, as the everlasting Light - "I am the Light of the
world." (Yehochanan/John 8:12).
He fulfills the feast of Unleavened Bread, as the everlasting Shewbread - "I
am the Bread of life." (Yehochanan/John 6:35).
And as the everlasting Foundation, He fulfills the Torah itself - "I am the
Way, the Truth and the Life." (Yehochanan/John 14:6).
As we celebrate/commemorate this Pesach, let us reflect deeply upon Christ,
and give glory and honor to the One in whom "...dwells all the fullness of
the 'Godhead' bodily." (Col. 2:9). HalleluYAH!
May the grace of YAH continually be with us all. Ahmein.
