THE Incarnation of the Christ
The ongoing debate among the Hebrew Israelite-aware over the origin of the Messiah is one whose resolution is crucial not only to our unity as the Messianic nation, but to our very redemption as a people.
As is the case with all points of doctrine, this issue must be thoroughly examined in the light of truth - not in a reactive mode based on the initiation of lies from our enemies.
There is a doctrine being taught among us that Y'shua [Yah'shua] must of necessity be the physical offspring of Yosef (Joseph), since He "...took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to YAH, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people." (Ibriy [Hebrews] 2:16-17). Y'shua is referred to as "the last Adahm (Adam)" - "And so it is written, the first Adahm was made a living soul: the last Adahm was made a living spirit." (1 Cor. 15:45). According to the genealogy in Luke's Gospel [see Luke 3:38] Adahm is the son of YAH - having no earthly father. And yet he is a man; and the father of all natural humanity by the divine decree of YAH. If it were necessary to have an earthly father to qualify as being a man, then the original man was something other than a man, and would not qualify himself! Even so, Mashiach, being the last Adahm, has no earthly father, and yet He too, is all man, and to that extent, has "all things in common with His brethren." Now, let's take a fresh look at just exactly how He took on the seed of Abraham - a very critical and profound question. The genealogy in Luke tells us this: "And Y'shua Himself began as if He were thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Yosef (Joseph), which was the son of Heli". (Luke 3:23). Notice this genealogy says that Yosef, the supposed father of Y'shua, was the son of Heli. On the other hand, MattitYahu's (Matthew’s) genealogy tells us that Yosef's father was Ya'aqob (Jacob) – "And Ya'aqob begat Yosef the husband of Miriam (Mary), of whom was born Y'shua, who is called Christ (Mashiach)". (MattitYahu [Matt.] 1:16). Why? MattitYahu's genealogy deals with the Messiah's royal lineage. Notice that it descends from Abraham to Y'shua, as a king must establish his descent from a king. Luke's genealogy deals with Y'shua's biological lineage. Notice that it ascends from Yosef to YAH, as a servant must establish his ascent to a king. Heli, being the father of Miriam and the father-in-law of Yosef, is the grandfather of Y'shua; so Y'shua is the seed of His father (maternal grandfather) Heli. Heli is the seed of Abraham (Luke 3:34), and therefore, so is the Messiah. Remember, in Bereshit (Genesis), the first mention of the coming redeemer comes in the Most High's judgment on the serpent, saying, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel". (Bereshit [Gen.] 3:15). The seed of the woman shall bruise the serpent’s head. Also notice that unlike all the other genealogical passages, MattitYahu 1:16 doesn't say that Yosef begat Y'shua, but instead says "…Yosef the husband of Miriam, of whom was born Y'shua, who is called Christ… ." Why not? Why didn't MattitYahu just simply record "Yosef begat Y'shua" just like he did with all the other generations? In my judgment, the answer is clear - because Yosef is the adoptive father of the Messiah; and it was "…Miriam, of whom was born the Messiah... ." According to Luke's genealogy, Miriam's father was Heli, a direct descendant of David through his son Nathan. This point is absolutely critical - and it gives Y'shua the biological right to the throne of David in a very profound way. Again, the gospel of MattitYahu presents Y'shua to Yisrael (Israel) as her King. And a king must have a royal genealogy. As you may know, the royal line of David is traced through his son Shelomoh (Solomon). So MattitYahu presents Y'shua as the son of David through Shelomoh. This descent gives Him the legal right to the throne by succession; being the eldest "son" of Yosef. Y'shua has both the royal lineage of David through King Shelomoh, as well as the natural lineage of David through Prince Nathan on his mother's side - another favored royal son who was not affected by the curse on Shelomoh's line. But the Messiah's credentials as both a King and a Son must be established. This is why Luke's gospel presents Him as the Son of Man – the suffering servant. And thus, Luke's genealogy is concerned with the natural or biological right of Y'shua to inherit the throne of David. So he traces Y'shua back to an older son of David, Nathan... In my judgment, the conclusion of the matter is this: Y'shua has the legal right to the throne of David through Yosef, his legal [adoptive] father - a descendant of Shelomoh; and the natural right to the throne through Heli, his maternal grandfather - a descendant of Nathan. Finally, we must not err, my beloved brethren. We must never put forth any doctrine or interpret any scripture as a reaction to catholicism, institutionalism, denominationalism or any other of our enemies, the "isms". We must consistently put forth a pro-active gospel based upon the scriptures themselves! The truth is, it's NOT the virgin birth of the Messiah, but the doctrine that Miriam the mother of Y'shua was "immaculately conceived" that's the damnable lie! This is the ancient Babylonian "queen of heaven" doctrine our enemy has extrapolated onto Y'shua and His mother, in a diabolical attempt to corrupt the TRUE congregation of YAH... THIS is the lie that we must expose and root out - mother worship!! As for the virgin birth of the Messiah, the prophet YeshaYahu (Isaiah) declared, "Therefore YHWH Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (YeshaYahu [Isaiah] 7:14). So then, the sign that YAH Himself shall give us is that a young woman shall conceive? And then call the son she bears Immanuel? Something that happens every day? Brothers, come and let us reason together! Behold, Y'shua Ha Mashiach - the Seed of the woman - did bruise the head of the serpent, giving him a mortal wound; and in so doing, opened wide the door to everlasting life! HalleluYAH!!! Let the thunderous praises of Yisrael be unto YAH our Father, and unto His Son Y'shua our Redeemer, both now and forevermore!!!
