Love, Not Language

 

 

Hear, O Yisrael - we, the physical descendants of the ancient tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi - along with those grafted into the faith from among the nations - are Jews!

 

The word 'Jew' is merely an English transliteration of the Hebrew word Yehuwdiy, and the Greek word Ioudaios; both meaning "a descendant of Yehudah, belonging to Yehudah, a Yudean."

 

To be sure, many have usurped this word from our fathers and used it for their own purposes...

 

Notice that Y'shua Himself used the term, saying "...I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan." (Rev 2:9). Non-Torah observant Anglo-Saxons/Caucasians who profess to be Jews strictly by physical descent from Judah are not Jews!

 

Clearly at this point in time, our original Hebrew language has not yet been restored, so you will find many brothers and sisters divided over words and names that are really saying the same thing.

 

Yahoshua, Yahshuah, Yeshua, Yahawashi, Jesus etc., are all referring to the same man whom we also call Mashiach, or Christ. In the case of the word Jew, it simply means one from the tribe of Yehudah, or a citizen of the Kingdom of Yehudah, which includes Yehudah, Benyamin and Levi.

Hearken, O sons of Judah - we must take back the terms the enemy has stolen from us; use them in the correct manner, and teach others this 'new wine' understanding as well.

 

And in doing so, we must always bear in mind the words of the apostle Paul, when he said "...Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearer." (2 Tim. 2:14).

The NASB puts it like this: "Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of YAH not to wrangle about words, which is useless, and leads to the ruin of the hearers."

 

It is written, "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth" (I John 3:18). Indeed. And after all of our zealous theological debates have run their course; love - not language - is still the way all men will know that we are disciples of Y'shua.
